When planting your tomatoes this year, try planting them deeper than usual. This gardening tip will help your tomato plants be more productive. Ya know how the stem of a tomato plant is prickly? Well, if you plant the stem underground, most of the prickles will become roots.

3 Steps:

  1. Pinch branches to remove the lower 2/3rds of the stem
  2. Dig a deeper hole and place the plant in as usual
  3. Fill the hole with soil and wait for the plant to grow as usual

A local gardener recently shared that were surprised to find their garden cleared of a good deal of lettuce. Chances are, the culprit was a rabbit or a deer.
If you are having trouble or are concerned about this issue, we have rabbit and deer repellent at the Garden Center. You can also keep away rabbits with some chicken wire or other, similar fencing.
